What is the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015?
The main purpose of HSWA is to provide for a balanced framework to secure the health and safety of workers and workplaces by: protecting workers and other persons against harm to their health, safety and welfare by eliminating or minimising risks arising from work. Read more here.
What Are The Minimum Standards of Health and Safety in The Workplace
Workplaces must be clean, healthy, safe, accessible and well maintained so work can be carried out without risks to worker health and safety. Health and safety doesn't have to be expensive, time-consuming or complicated.
Is a Health and Safety Policy a Legal Requirement in New Zealand?
What’s important is that you treat H&S as part of your day-to-day business and manage it proportionately to the level of risk at your work. This means the greater the risks you have, the more vigilant you need to be. Businesses must always consider first whether they can reasonably eliminate risks.
Many small businesses think by law they must write their H&S efforts down on paper.
While this can be useful for some businesses, it’s not legally required and much simpler practices could actually work better.
What Do Health and Safety Consultants Do?
Workplace health and safety consultants sometimes called `health and safety generalists', provide broad-based strategic and practical advice, support and analysis to organisations on a wide range of aspects of health and safety.

What is an Officer in Health and Safety?
An officer is a person who holds a very senior leadership position and has the ability to significantly influence the management of a business or undertaking. Think of it as a person who with the stroke of a pen can change the entire direction of the company.
What is the minimum Health and Safety Training requirements?
Businesses and undertakings must provide workers and others with the information, training, instruction, or supervision they need to protect them from work health and safety risks. This may include new employee and refresher inductions, and inductions to new work environments.
